Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 20, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the automatalabs.ca website and to the desktop and mobile applications published by Automata Labs ("we," "us," or "our"). It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.
By using our website or any of our applications, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to keep our software stable and resolve issues quickly. Specifically:
- → Crash Reports: When an application crashes or encounters a critical error, some products may send a crash report so we can investigate the issue. These reports are intended to contain technical details such as stack traces, error codes, app version, and operating system version. They are not intended to include your files or the content you process inside the app.
- → Error Diagnostics: Some products may send limited diagnostic information, such as error type, app version, and operating system version, to help us identify and fix bugs.
- → Website Form Submissions: If you join a waitlist, contact us, or submit a support request, we collect the information you provide in that form, such as your email address and any optional fields like name, company, subject, category, priority, or message content. We use that information only to respond to your request or send the update you asked for.
Outside of the website forms you choose to submit, we do not collect your contacts, browsing history, or the files and data you process within our applications.
3. Local-First Architecture
Automata Labs applications are designed around local-first workflows. In-app data — whether inventory records, flight logs, mileage entries, log files, SQL schemas, or image metadata — is intended to stay on your device in local files or databases controlled by you unless a feature explicitly tells you otherwise.
This is a core product principle. Our website and support systems are separate from the data you create or process inside the applications themselves.
4. How We Use the Information We Collect
We use the limited data we collect solely for the following purposes:
- To identify, diagnose, and resolve software bugs and crashes
- To improve application stability and performance across updates
- To respond to support and waitlist requests submitted through our website
We do not use any collected data for advertising, profiling, resale, or any purpose beyond those listed above.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Crash and diagnostic data may be processed by third-party infrastructure providers that help us investigate bugs and operate the site. Payment and commerce providers may also process the information necessary to complete purchases or issue licenses. These providers act under their own terms and privacy policies.
Payments and license verification are handled by platform providers (such as Microsoft Store or Apple App Store) or third-party processors (such as Stripe or LemonSqueezy). Automata Labs does not receive or store raw payment card data.
6. Data Retention
Anonymized crash and diagnostic data is retained only as long as necessary to investigate and resolve the underlying issue, typically no longer than 90 days. Email addresses submitted via our website are retained until you request their deletion or opt out of communications.
7. Children's Privacy
Our applications and website are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold about you. Since we collect very limited personal data, these requests are typically straightforward to fulfill. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we handle. Because most of your data never leaves your device, your local device security is the primary safeguard for in-app data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our website or applications after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
