Clouds come from the comparison. Drawing Revision Delta aligns each pair of sheets and compares them, then places its clouds around what it found. Nothing depends on the clouds already drawn on the sheets, so changes the drafter left unclouded get a cloud too.
One cloud per group of nearby changes. Changes close together share a cloud, labeled with the range it covers, such as R16–R19, while a change on its own gets its own label, such as R4. Each cloud sits about an eighth of an inch outside the changed line work, and its label is printed above it, upright on the sheet as displayed.
What each cloud says. Every cloud carries a comment that names its label, the pixels removed and added, and the earlier file and page it was compared with. When text changed inside it, the comment adds the edit in words, such as “2x6” → “2x8”. The markup's author is Drawing Revision Delta and its subject is Cloud.
Editable, not burned in. The clouds are PDF polygon annotations of the cloud type, with a cloudy border and their own appearance, so PDF viewers show them and markup tools list them as clouds. Move one, delete one, or add your own comments before you forward the set.
The sheets underneath. Each revised sheet is copied from its source PDF unchanged: vector content, page size, and rotation stay as issued. Scans and image sheets are placed as images in the same PDF, so a mixed set still comes out as one file.
Sheets new in this issue. A sheet that appears only in the later revision has nothing to compare against, so it carries a note in its top-left corner: New sheet: not in the earlier set.
Which sheets go in. By default the clouded set holds the sheets that changed and the sheets that are new, in the later revision's own order. Turn on Include sheets with no visible change to write the whole revised set.
Two ways to save it. Choose folder and export writes clouded-set.pdf together with change-report.pdf, sheet-summary.csv, changes.csv, and PNG snapshots. Save clouded set writes the clouded PDF alone, under a name you choose in the Save As dialog.
Check before you forward. In the Compare view, Clouds around changes shows the same clouds over the overlay. Mask title block keeps date and revision-letter edits from being clouded, and the sensitivity setting decides how small an edit earns a cloud.
